The 1 Market Square project was established in 1999 to improve the quality of life for young people aged 11 to 25 years in Hailsham. |
The complex, owned and funded by Hailsham Town Council accommodates a café-style meeting place (Square Youth Cafe), an information drop-in facility (Infopoint), together with supported accommodation for up to seven young people (The Foyer), run by the YMCA. |

‘The Square’ aims to provide a service to young people enabling them to develop social, physical, emotional and political awareness. |
Regardless of background, gender or culture, young people can expect a safe, supportive, fun and non– judgmental environment. |
